COLONIAL IMPORTS: SUPERMARKET REALISM

Colonial Imports: Supermarket Realism is the third publication in the series. In this issue, contributors consider who supermarkets are for and what one can find inside: not your mother’s bread, arbitrary expiry dates, crabs that remember you, hushed conversations, unexpected versions of your faves, disappearing products, food for your soul, and soft sentimental background music.

This issue explores supermarkets as a form of navigation between memories of here and home, childhood to adulthood, our expectations and reality, the socio-political forces that separate us, and getting what we desire and need.
