Call for Submissions – Colonial Imports #3: Supermarket Realism

Happy to announce the next round of Colonial Imports! This issue dives into markets and what they might mean to people who rely on them.

Supermarkets are familiar, complicated spaces: overwhelming when crowded but quiet and comfortable in the evening; full of you all you need but not the specifics of what you want; convenient but wasteful; places of relationship bonding or the tipping point of no return. They’re a promise as much as a trap, somewhere we visit regularly, a third space of strangers searching for the essentials or the absolutely unnecessary.
